What bold new ideas do you have for the "mouse house's" #1 kids network?

Maybe a movie marathon of all the disney films. Kids would love that. Any particular movies you'd put in a Disney marathon? Which ones? Animated? Live-action? Both? Anything? And the times it'll come on? Anything?

We need a channel for families. Not separate channels for preschoolers, kids, tweens, teens, young adults, adults. We need one mainstream channel that people of all ages can sit down and enjoy together. There really isn't much like that out there now and that's what Disney Channel should be. Turn Disney XD into Playhouse/tween Disney, SoapNet (soon to be Disney Jr.) into an all adult network to compete with USA and TNT and make ABC Family a variety channel. But Disney channel should be something for everybody. Here's a skeleton in central time.
Weekdays 6-8 Before school block for elementary school kids that would be up that early. Air newer quality cartoons like the Replacements and Spectacular Spider-Man along with shows that have proven themselves such as Kim Possible, Recess, Lilo and Stitch, House of Mouse or even Super Robot Monkey Team. 8 Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and My Friends Tigger and Pooh, a babysitter solely for young children. 9 Bear hour with Adventures of Gummi Bears and New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Two shows that are great for younger viewers, but are intelligent enough for their parents and has nostalgia and memories for older viewers. Unlike the previous hours this is one families watch together. 10 Movie- Disney should air a lot of movies, because they own a lot of movies. Mid-morning is the time for TV movies, direct to video movies and theatrical stuff that may not be their best material. Movies for nostalgia and completists. 12 Mickey Mouse Club and Zorro 1 Chip 'n Dale Rescue Rangers and DuckTales, 'nuff said. 2 Afternoon action with X-Men: The Animated Series and Gargoyles 3 Although Disney XD will be the home of tween programming that age group will still be represented here in an after school block (and only here). First half hour rotates between Wizards of Waverly Place, Suite Life on Deck, JONAS, Sonny with a Chance and Good Luck Charlie. The second half features that phenomenon Hannah Montana. 4-9 These next five hours are for the families, no demographic. Everyone. Mickey's Toontown (an hour of the company's best shorts), hour of the Muppet Show, a great movie, and it ends with either an episode from the long running anthology series or a new special. This is what resolidifies Disney Channel as America's Family Network. 9-11 Shows for audiences, yet not isolating younger viewers. Essentially Nick at Nite. The first hour is made up of a rotating schedule of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, AFV, Full House and a variety of sitcoms (i.e. Boy Meets World, Dinosaurs, Blossom, 8 Simple Rules) and the 10 o'clock hour is made up of their two biggest primetime successes: the phenomenon Home Improvement and Golden Girls which was an early start to the career of America's new favorite actress. Every now and then movies from Touchstone would air, but nothing too mature. 12 Another movie, because face it there is a lot to air. 2-6 The many great series Disney has that hasn't aired yet. Batman, Superman, the various Spidey series', TaleSpin, Darkwing Duck, Tick, Bonkers, Goof Troop, Pinky and the Brain, Bear in the Big Blue House, Adventures in Wonderland and others would air within here.
Weekends are dedicated to shows that don't air during the week. And no marathons, Disney relies too much on them they need to quit this addiction cold turkey (at least on this network). Saturday mornings would air five hours of action cartoons. Batman, Superman, Spider-Man, Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, Aladdin, Incredible Hulk, Oban Star Racers, Digimon, Samurai Pizza Cats (okay, not really action) and the US premiere of Diabolik would air here. Sunday mornings are for comedy cartoons. This would include Muppet Babies, Eek! the Cat, Goof Troop, Bonkers, Darkwing Duck, Tale Spin, Pinky and the Brain, and the Tick. Sure there are more shows that people love, but everything already listed features the very best that the company has to offer. US premieres of the Stitch anime would also air sometime but I don't know where.
As for all of the movies which I have slots for that includes everything, and I do mean everything. Disney's animated classics, true life adventures, live-action movies, Pixar movies, TV movies, Studio Ghibli movies, direct to video animated and live-action movies, newer nature and Disney studio documentaries, movies from Touchstone, Hollywood and Miramax that are safe for viewers, Selznick movies, Muppet movies, the movies Buena Vista released in the fifties if they still have the rights to them. Everything should air, however the quality material and historically significant movies would take the forefront. Disney should also get airing rights back for Pirates of Caribbean, National Treasure, Enchanted and any others they don't already have. This is the Disney Channel. They air here.

Also since this is commercial free they would air Schoolhouse Rock, At the Movies review and other things between shows. This should really also be commercial free in the way TCM has it.

I'll put it out there.
I don't watch a lot of Disney Channel, so forgive me if I don't know what I'm talking about. I just know that Disney Channel needs to be more than a girly channel. Plus, it'd actually be nice to see actual Disney animation aside from the Playhouse Disney stuff and Phineas and Ferb.
So, a Disney Channel I'd like to see utilizing what they've got (Weekdays now, Weekends later on):
6 AM - 10 AM: Disney Junior (preschool, "break-free" block utilizing the extended resources and libraries they have on tap)
10 AM - The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (not necessarily a part of the Disney Junior block, but it is a bridging show towards the late-morning cartoons) 10:30 AM - Gummi Bears 11 AM - Duck Tales 11:30 AM - Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers 12 - 2 PM: Disney Channel Afternoon Movie 2 PM - Lizzie McGuire 2:30 PM - Even Stevens 3 PM - Disney's Doug 3:30 PM - Recess 4 PM - Phineas and Ferb 4:30 PM - Pepper Ann 5 PM - Wizards of Waverly Place (M-Th)/Magical World of Disney (Saturday premiere Encore, Fridays) 5:30 PM - Hannah Montana (M-Th) 6 PM - Suite Life (M-Th) 6:30 PM - Sunny With A Chance (M-Th)
7 - 10 PM: DC Prime (Prime-time on Disney Channel)
7 PM - Magical World of Disney (M-Thurs) Phineas and Ferb (Fridays - New) 7:30 PM - Fish Hooks (Fridays - New) 8 PM - Wizards of Waverly Place (Fridays - New) 8:30 PM - Suite Life (Fridays - New) 9 PM - Suite Life (Mondays - Encore)/Good Luck Charlie (T - Encore of Sunday)/Wizards of Waverly Place (W - Encore)/ Jonas (Th - Encore)/Sunny with a Chance (Encore of Sunday - Fridays) 9:30 PM - Hannah Montana (M-F)
10 PM - 6 AM Disney Nighttime (because there's absolutely no reason whatsoever they should be programming their network to kids after 10 PM on Mondays through Thursdays). On Fridays, Disney Channel Sleepover takes up three hours of the Nighttime lineup. 10 PM - Mickey and Donald (classic, uncut Disney shorts for the older viewers, M - Th)/Jonas (F) 10:30 PM - Dinosaurs (M - Th)/Wizards (F) 11 PM - The Muppet Show (the original, uncut, hour-long series, M - Th)/Hannah Montana (F) 11:30 PM - Sunny with a Chance (F) 12 AM - Eek! The Cat (M - Th)/Phineas and Ferb (F) 12:30 AM - The Tick (M - Th)/Fish Hooks (F) 1 AM - X-Men 1:30 AM - Gargoyles 2 AM - Vault Disney (classic, uncut specials from the golden age of Disney) 3 AM - Disney Late Night Matinee (Classic, "break-free," fun Disney films with shorts on before and after the film) 5 AM - Good Morning, Mickey (an hour of classic, uncut Disney shorts)

I get the current Disney Channel strategy, I honestly do. It is hard to argue with it, because it is getting ratings, making money and creating phenomenons. However while the current Disney Channel is successful it is causing the company harm. Disney movies, characters and franchises are just not getting exposure. How can The Muppets become a number one franchise again without any of the Muppet series or movies airing on TV? Mickey, Donald and other characters are limiting their appeal by only being shown to the under 5 set. Movies like Pollyanna and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea aren't receiving the exposure they need to be seen as classics by newer generations. Then there is Disney's own animated movie library, in a time when movie audiences equate quality Disney animation with Pixar and Pixar alone Disney needs to remind people of their own studio's history and unparalleled influence in feature animation. I know that few people go on this website regularly, but this is something that I just needed to rant about. I will post a new schedule soon, just want to get it right first.

It's not a schedule for Disney Channel, but more like a list of networks that would come to be and how some existing Disney-owned networks would be reformatted if Disney's TV division were under my wing.
Disney Channel= As the name "Disney" implies family-friendly content, this network would now be geared towards the very same demos as Qubo and pre-Jetix Toon Disney instead of the MTV crowd, thus making the Disney Jr. brand's existence utterly pointless. It's airs any programming based upon Disney's homegrown, younger-skewing intellectual properties including its own original programming.
Double Disney= Same as Disney Channel, but is made as its generic spinoff/dumping ground network as Boomerang is to CN.
Toon Disney= Same as Disney Channel, but as it's revived to keep the mouse's in-house animation division alive, it'll definitely air animated programming 24/7.
HWS= Short for "Hollywood Studios/Services", this brand is born as a result of a Touchstone/Hollywood brand merger. It's also a general broadcast network that's dedicated to airing programming based upon Disney's homegrown, older-skewing intellectual properties including its own original programming.
HWS2= Same as HWS, but is made as its generic cable spinoff.
HWS Youth= A children's network spinoff of HWS, it airs programming based upon Disney's homegrown IPs with t(w)een and young adult appeal including its own original programming. Even though it's definitely geared towards youths, some of its programming may be a bit too edgy for the Disney-branded networks to air, which is why I've made this network.
ABC= As a broadcast network, pretty much the same as it is now.
ABC Family= I would rename this network as "ABC2" as it's now just a generic cable spinoff of ABC, but unfortunately, I heard there's a contract with Pat Robertson/CBN that states whoever owns this network must keep the word "Family" in its name.
Kaboose= Formerly Disney XD, which was originally Fox Kids and Jetix. A generic children's network that airs acquisitions, programming based upon Disney's acquired IPs and its own original programming as well.
