So, if an animated Scott Pilgrim series or film was made, who would you want to see voice the characters?
Obviously, one would want to have as many actors from Edgar Wright's SP movie reprise their roles as possible, but SAG regulations could pose problems depending on whether or not this would be a union production or not, and there's also the question of whether the voices would be recorded in LA, NYC, Texas, Vancouver, or somewhere else. Also, the actors who played the Katayanagi twins in the films couldn't reprise their roles, because from I understand, they don't speak English.
I'd at least like to see Michael Cera as Scott, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona, Ellen Wong as Knives, Alison Pill as Kim, Mark Webber as Stephen Stills, Kieran Culkin as Wallace, and Johnny Simmons as Young Neil, and possibly Aubrey Plaza as Julie, Brie Larson as Envy, Anna Kendrick as Stacey, and side characters like Other Scott and Sandra and Monique voiced by those who played them in the film. Oh, and Mae Whitman as Lisa and Roxie.
On non-VA-related notes, It would have anime-inspired openings and endings (and each would change over the course of the series as the story progressed, much like, say, how DBZ had like 3 different versions of Cha-La-Head-Cha-La), and the opening theme would be "Scott Pilgrim" by Plumtree and the ending theme would be "American Girl" by Tom Petty). I would be produced by Titmouse and given a decent animation budget (I'd prefer no flash) and follow the books as slavishly as possible (since the books are divided into chapters like a collected manga book, maybe each episode could consist of about 2 or 3 chapters, oh, and include the "Free Scott Pilgrim" and "The Wonderful World of Kim Pine" in the series, maybe as a filler episode in between the end of Vol. 3: Infinite Sadness and the start of Vol. 4: Gets It Together, and maybe the Comics Festival 2005, Now Magazine and Comics Festival 2007 Sushi strip short stories could be slightly re-scripted and made into promotional shorts, with the Comics Festival 2005 Wallace and Scott one-pager plugging the SP show's primere/airing on Adult Swim/whatever network picks it up instead of the Comics Festival.)
