Contrary to popular belief, teenagers do still watch television. What should they be seeing on the channel that's Nick for the older crowd?

Looks good. A nice mix of the old and the new and even a bit of animation thrown in which is something Teen Nick usually lacks.

What's the point of having a teen-based Nickelodeon if teens won't watch it? Also, doesn't MTV and Teen Nick cross-pollinate in the first place both largely being teen-based channels? What I'd do if I was in charge is to radically change the dynamics and direction of the lineup. Teens don't watch Teen Nick because they air the same cookie-cutter teeny-bopper stuff Nickelodeon airs plus DeGrassi. That's why DeGrassi is the biggest show on the channel. You build the network around that image, not unlike how in the 1980s Nickelodeon built their network around another Canadian import, You Can't Do That on Television. You go with what works, see what's out there, see what you have access to, and utilize all possible resources you can. It's like the network holds itself back because of the Nickelodeon label instead of becoming a rebel in spite of it. You look at what's popular with the demographic. Why is a show like Big Time Rush on Nicktoons but not Teen Nick? Why isn't a show like Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Teen Nick when one of the biggest properties in the US is a romantic vampire series? Here's what I'd do: - I'd make 80% of Teen Nick's programming exclusive to Teen Nick. They're not repeated on Nickelodeon, Nicktoons, nor MTV. If you want to see them, you have to see them ONLY on Teen Nick. This includes repeats of older Nickelodeon shows that need to permanently leave the circulation of Nick's lineup. Drake and Josh, Zoey 101, Ned's Declassified, are now permanently banned from Nickelodeon's airwaves and permanently a part of the Teen Nick roster along with All That, Kenan and Kel, The Amanda Show, Unfabulous, Taina, and countless others. I'll let current Nick shows air on Teen Nick, but I won't let shows like iCarly, True Jackson, Victorious, Big Time Rush, The Troop, or others dominate the lineup. This isn't Nick Too, you know, and the fewer Nick repeats, the better.
- I'd reintroduce familiar, yet older brands to the teen audiences. I'd put repeats of Hey Dude, Welcome Freshmen, Salute Your Shorts, and Are You Afraid of the Dark? on the network, and if they make a significant mark on the viewership, I'd greenlight either a revival of the show or create a new series that evokes the spirit of the series. I do find it comical that Melissa Joan Hart is better known as Sabrina the Teenage Witch than her iconic role as Clarissa Darling on Clarissa Explains It All. I'd definitely find a permanent, prime slot for it on the Teen Nick lineup.
- Where is the action? There are a lot of teen-friendly action titles out there. Aside from Buffy (I know there a couple of gay characters on the show, but why is it on LOGO?), there's The Sarah Jane Adventures (which was just wasted on Syfy), The Tomorrow People (a great show about young teen heroes hunted over their powers), Ocean Girl, Spellbinder, Smallville (it's about to end, and it had a brief, unremarkable run on ABC Family for a year and syndication and was never seen in either again), and H2O: Just Add Water (which had an abbreviated run on Nickelodeon and ended very prematurely in the States [it ended its 78 episode run a couple of weeks ago]) could all bring action and adventure with a sci-fi twist to the Teen Nick lineup. And yeah, teens dig action-adventure projects. Otherwise, Avatar, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Transformers, and other movies would be commercial bombs. Speaking of movies...
- Where's a movie block? I'm not talking about those cookie-cutter teeny-bopper vanilla-flavored teen comedy-dramas they always show. There should be a weekly movie block on Teen Nick. Not on Friday nights and not on Sundays. Perhaps Wednesdays or Saturdays would work for them.
- On Saturday late afternoons (or Fridays before prime-time), I'd put on a weekly two-hour music show in the tradition of the BBC's Top of the Pops and MTV/VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown featuring performances from (and interviews with) today's biggest musicians, a countdown of top 10 videos of the week as chosen by the Teen Nick audience (played in their entirety), an Artist to Watch interview/video segment, and a look to the music/DVD/movie/game releases of the week. The fact that Teen Nick doesn't have a show like that on their lineup already is kind of baffling to me. It's kind of frustrating that MTV doesn't have a show like that either.
- Animation has a place on Teen Nick. There are plenty of titles available to boot. And I'm not talking about the usual suspects either. Daria could fit in easily as could Ren and Stimpy and Invader ZIM. Beavis and Butthead, maybe in the later hours. South Park, not so much. I wouldn't mind something like Death Note, InuYasha, or something like those airing post 10 PM on the lineup. Like I said, teens want something other than teen comedic dramas.
- Drop Nick Cannon as a spokesman/personality/"president." The network needs no on-air authority figure. Just celebrate teens.
That's what I'd do. As for a schedule, I'm going to have to come back to this later. Got a website to finish updating.

^ Agreed about anime. There are several anime titles that would be good on TeenNick, such as Death Note now that [AS] doesn't have it.
Let's give this a go... no particular timeframe for this.

What...? No K-On?
Teen Nick would be the ideal place for a shoujo focused anime block to flourish.
Vampire Knight, Haruhi and Ouran as you mentioned and I'd toss in Fruits Basket and maybe Negami, Full Moon wo Sagashite and K-On.
Death Note, Buso Renkin, The Prince of Tennis, Eyeshield 21 and if we're willing to go with older shows... Detective Conan and Yu Yu Hakusho.
Perhaps even One Piece could work. It is afterall a cast of teenagers. Maybe Reborn! as well.

Dunno about SGT Frog.. if anything, I think that'd be better suited for Nicktoons. One Piece maybe.

Yeah SGT Frog isn't really a "teen" show. Though content might push PG. It's nothing that couldn't air on Nicktoons, Disney XD or CN. Compared to DBZ Kai it'd get off pretty well on Toonzai even.
Futurama is a really good call. I know I loved it when I was a teenager. Maybe no to South Park though, for content reasons if nothing else. Beavis and Butthead perhaps though. Daria, Clone High and maybe Undergrads.
Save Me Lolipop? I dunno about that one. I'd rather see Full Moon wo Sagashite in that genre and Vampire Knight would do great.

Spring 2011, weekends
12:00AM Degrassi 12:30AM Degrassi 1:00AM Beavis & Butthead 1:30AM Daria 2:00AM Death Note 2:30AM Vampire Knight 3:00AM The Brothers Garcia 3:30AM Taina 4:00AM South of Nowhere 4:30AM Romeo! 5:00AM Zoey 101 5:30AM Zoey 101 6:00AM The Assistants 6:30AM The Nick Cannon Show 7:00AM Full House 7:30AM Full House 8:00AM George Lopez 8:30AM George Lopez 9:00AM Ned's Declassified 9:30AM Ned's Declassified 10:00AM Rugrats 10:30AM Hey Arnold! 11:00AM Doug 11:30AM Invader ZIM 12:00PM Malcolm in the Middle 12:30PM Malcolm in the Middle 1:00PM TMZ 1:30PM Gigantic 2:00PM Degrassi 2:30PM Degrassi 3:00PM Ouran High School Host Club 3:30PM The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya 4:00PM All That 4:30PM All That 5:00PM Kenan & Kel 5:30PM Kenan & Kel 6:00PM Everybody Hates Chris 6:30PM Everybody Hates Chris 7:00PM The Simpsons 7:30PM Futurama 8:00PM Drake & Josh 8:30PM The Amanda Show 9:00PM Soul Eater 9:30PM Death Note 10:00PM Vampire Knight 10:30PM Code Geass 11:00PM That 70's Show 11:30PM Gigantic
Thought about including Hetalia: Axis Powers in with the 9PM-11PM anime, but discovered its a 5 minute series, though TN could still air it like Nicktoons is Rush Zone. Could do well there, especially if they promoted it like "It's like History Class, only less boring" to get some viewers in.
Since Death Note and Code Geass are fairly popular here and [as] lost the rights, TeenNick could be a nice place for them. SE being on DVD would probably not be too much of an issue for this network. Vampire Knight is pretty much the ideal anime for TeenNick, and the two Haruhis could fit in well.
Reduced the Degrassi reruns so it's not DegrassiNick and has some variety. Not much of a reason to air shows like iCarly and Big Time Rush when they're on Nick proper constantly.
Simpsons is there since in this scenario it would have been acquired by Viacom and would be airing on a few channels, mostly Nick@Nite. Putting it alongside Futurama, which is no problem at all, is pretty much ideal.
Depending on when the show airs, Napoleon Dynamite: TAS could potentially air here as well due to the movie being Viacom-licensed.

I would give it the slogan The Place for Teens.

TeenNick drama block on Friday nights: Degrassi at 7, Gigantic at 7:30, My Life as Liz at 8:00, and Community at 8:30. Very unrealistic in the 8:00 hour, yes, I know.

Did the whole anime concept again. It could potentially be a pretty good move for them, especially with titles like Death Note which are popular in the US but have no TV home. Was going to put something else at 11:30PM but didn't want to go overboard with the anime.
Threw in some western animation. Futurama should be no problem, and The Simpsons in this scenario was acquired by Nick@Nite. Classic Nicktoons Block seems like it could fare well.
